Maze

Yusuf made a maze with his blocks. It was an all day project and I only managed to get a picture half way through.  By the end of the day his wooden blocks had also been added as well.

Sand Art

Yesterday we did some sand art.  We did this craft once when we attended a kids craft place and the boys loved it!  Since we were avoiding going outside due to the extreme heat, this was a fun way to spend our morning. <3

My lil artist.  Ive noticed Ibby is alot more into crafts than Yusuf ever was.

Yusuf is developing more of an interest to crafts now that he is  older.  He has never really liked coloring n such and I  never really enforced it either.

My inner child came out and I had to join in on the fun... can you tell which one is mine? :)
Ibby did the two black and purple ones, Yusuf did the two orange ones.

Science Fair

Last weekend we took part in a homeschooling Science Fair.  Mashallah it was awesome and Im so happy to be apart of a group where my son can participate in such things!  The science fair was planned a few months back and I asked Baba if he could be in charge.  Alhamdulilah he agreed and though it was a little last minute, it was successful and Yusuf really benefited from it!  They decided to do an experiment on the effects of coke.  And since Yusuf often sees other kids who are allowed coke and we are very strict with no coke, it was really good for him because now he understands and agrees with this rule of ours :)  It was fun teaching Yusuf science experiment words like 'hypothesis'... He seemed to grasp more than I expected he would, but even if he forgets, the exposure is still good for him, inshaAllah.  The kids under seven years old were not judged, but they all went home with participant medals which of course was the highlight of the day!

Explaining his project to a friend's Mom

My grandparents stopped by for a visit = )

This was Yusuf's favorite part... How much sugar is in one cake of coke - 10 tspns! Yuck!

Strawberry Picking

Last week we went on a homeschooling field trip to a farm for Strawberry picking.  Alhamdulilah the weather turned out to be really good despite the rainy forecast.  Baba came with us for a change which was nice :)  Usually we go on the homeschooling field trips just with our friends but because I am reaching the end of the pregnancy, we needed Baba's help.  To be honest I wasnt too thrilled with the farm, its become very commercialized and we were only allowed to pick three strawberries each.. but alhamdulillah the kids had a great time.

Moments like these...

...melt my heart mashaAllah <3 Especially when they spontaneously took out the books and blanket and positioned themselves on the sofa like this together, all while I was busy in the kitchen making dinner.

May Allah always keep their bond strong, Ameen.
